Couple questions?

Well first off I just want to thank everyone here for being quick and spot on with awesome advice and tips! Now on to my questions, first off I'm going to be putting an hx35 on and was wondering about the down pipe, can I use a 4" diamond eye dp for our trucks or do I need a dp for a second gen and would there be any fitment issues. Secondly what manifolds would you recommend? Which ones should I steer clear of as well. And by the way who ever was following my getrag swap thread... ITS AWESOME! completely different truck with a stick!

I KNEW you would like the Getrag swap.

You can use a DE DP with that HX-35, that is the set up on my black crew cab.

The 2nd gen DP CAN work, I have seen it, but is not likely to fit as well against the fire wall of your 1st gen.

What Oliver said. I is a pretty easy swap. seems like you have to use a different hose on your crossover tube.
and your DP moves back a bout an inch.

IF the DP is already install it needs to be moved back, but if you are installing at the same time as the HX-35, it just need to be installed.

Mark is correct.
I installed a 2nd gen intercooler at the same time as the HX-35, but if you want to keep it NON I/Ced, then you will need a lager diameter boot to go over the HX-35 turbo outlet.

I might also be inclined to wrap the downpipe with "header wrap to keep some of the heat off the plastic heater/ac box

I got the DE 4 inch DP that has a 3 inch flange to use the same 3 inch V band clamp that you have on your stock system.

Downpipe choice may be dictated by year of HX35. The twelve valve HX's had a removable elbow, and a 1st gen style downpipe may be used w/o the elbow. Later (24 valve) HX's had a one piece back plate and elbow. These must use the 2nd gen style DP, or some swapping/fabrication is needed. I have run both styles w/a 2nd gen 4" DP on a 1991 D250/Getrag for years w/no special wrap w/no problems.
