Exclamation It could happen to you!

I have been getting the truck ready for pulling my jeep this season and noticed something real edit! My wife had been driving it for a few days and I noticed a puddle under it yesterday, I thought it was the AC drain, it was not. I have manual gauges in the truck, and where the temp. and oil lines enter the cab the temp. rubbed a hole in the oil line, putting about six quarts of Delo in my carpet. Luckily I found it in time however, I also discovered a whole new world of rust I had to cut out the carpet from this area, and now save my $$ for a restoration. I usually use this site for info, thought I would contribute this, something that is easily overlooked!

Just to prevent such occurences, I slip a length of flexible-tubing over any fluid-lines where they enter the fire-wall, or any other place of possible damage.

Also, always install a shut-off valve at the source of pressure, then plumb the gauge-line to that; then, if something does go wrong, the valve can be closed and simply eliminate the gauge from the system, to be repaired at a more convenient location.

all that oil should help to prolong the growth of the rust.

good thing you caught it when you did.

Now that is the way it should be done.
