Question Copper tube inserted in the AC line?

I read a post a long time ago about pulling the copper tube out of the AC line to get colder air, well I did that and it does work. I pulled and pushed too much and broke the copper tube with tiny wires in it. Now the compressor doesn't cycle on and off. If I leave the AC on at idle it will overpressurize and blow out the pump relief.

What is the copper tube called????
