Just one small # up date, in the misalnious part # sec. for the up dated fan and fan clutch the part #s should be 52028653 and
52028760

I had to go back thru my previous post to find the right #s
for shore(showed above) and thanks to bgilberts link was able to prove that these number above are the corect #S
Disregard the ether number i have stated.....these are the right ones!
Have dubble check! theses are the corrects

Fortunatly it didn't damage the rad much, I can see where it skimmed it but fortunatly no tube damage or leaks.

So is this common? Is there a better fan available or just replace with stock? New/used? Cummins direct or Dodge dealership? Thanks!

You are lucky. Mine exploded by loosing two blades, causing the shroud to explode and the blades damaged the hood to the tune of about $500+ in body work. Total damage for me was $700.00

I just put a stock fan back on.

So just how common is this for the fan blade to come off and rip up sh....stuff?

OK....just to make every thing clear as mudd

FROM CHRYSLER(dealer ship part manager) there is no up dated part ###s for those of us that have a non intercooled (89_91.0) alltho these part number are na no longer avalible, i fig thay would be go for referance. FAN# is 4428156 that superseeded to52027657 Clutch is 52006096.....all 3 part #s are no linger avalable Last year i bout clutch so it has been in the last year that that one was NS1
the good news...91.5-93 fan part# was 52004927 updated to 52028653
and the clutch(fan clutch) Part # was 52004928 updated to 52028760

As of june 19th 2006 the up dated parts for the 91.5-93 are still avalible.

With that said,I'm going to try the updated part #s, on my non intercooled truck, when the wether becomes a problem with my temp guage
I will let you now how it works!!!!!! or if it work at all

You are fully up dated at this time, please put your seat in the up right position, and exit....."stage left"

well the fan is larger for the 91.5 and above...
I actually went with a hayden fan... with my stock original clutch.... they also have a hayden replacement hd clutch as well...
the fan is much quieter, BUT there was a small clearance issue a little bending solved. I don't remember the part # but they come in 18" and 19" versions.
I have the 18" but the 19 will fit I believe... It is much quieter than our stock fan which is a boat anchor

OBTW How do I get the stupid fan off? I know the nut has to turn clockwise(left hand thread) but I just can not seem get it to break loose. I'm having trouble keeping the pully from moving. Last time I used a large adjustable wrench on the nut and a rubber strap wrench on the pully and it came apart fairly easy. Not sure why its so stubborn this time. Any other ideas?

well you can use a pully holder tool
or use a pnumatic hammer
it needs a good shock to loosen the nut.
I used the big 36mm wrench on end (as a chisel) with a mini sledge and a few whacks of that and it popped loose. it was a bear

I needed to replace my clutch hub last summer. NAPA and Advance Auto both carry Haydens. I remember Advance was cheaper and on the shelf. It works and so far no leaks.
