converting W250 front for 1 ton rims...
im putting a dually rear on my W250 ( dana 80 second gen ), i need to match the front now, has anyone put W350 rims on front of w250... can i swap W350 rotors or does more need to be done. i suppose i can use spacers but would rather do a factory install if possible if it doesnt involve changing out the whole front axle.

The front axle on a dual wheel truck is different than a single wheel truck. Its actually wider to make up for the use of the different wheel. You may be able to use wheel spacers and longer studs but the correct front knuckles would be better.

The front rearend housings are the same, the only difference is the hub/rotor assy's as is the 2wd trucks also. You can get front hub/rotor assy's from a junkyard and put them on your rearend and have the same thing, again you can also do the same with a 2wd. I converted my 90 w250 to one ton wheels but I had a set of used arrowcraft adapters that bolt on instead of the wheel then the bud wheel bolts to them.

im a bit confused on the statement " The front rearend housings are the same, "
the front is a dana 60, the rear a dana 70, what part is the same... are you saying a dually front rotor assembly will bolt up to the 3/4 ton 60 front axle and work. ..
if the W350 front axle is wider, is the axle itself wider or is it the hubs that make it wider and simply replacing the hubs with W350 hubs will bring me to the W350 specs.

I think you switch out the entire knuckle out but I'm not 100% on that. I think your title is throwing people off. It should say your converting a W250 into a W250 dual wheel truck. There is no difference between 250 and 350 wheels only a difference when you say its a dually wheel

He was saying the front 60 housing of a single wheel and dually are the same. In fact, the knuckles, spindles, outter axle shafts, bearings, locking hubs, etc are all the same. All you need are dually front hubs like these.

Now these are for a later style dana 60, 1990-93, with the internal locking hubs. If you have an 89 and down dually, you'll need the external locking hubs style like these. Notice how the locking hub bolts to the hub, "externally"
