converter in, lost od
i put the finishing touches on my converter install. but now i don't have over drive. i ended up breaking the spedo sensor in the transfer. is that why it doesnt work? if so what can i do for a quick fix. my truck aint no fun without od.

while utilizing the search function i came up with the idea of just putting the vss back in. (i broke the little gearbox that goes with it) so my speedo works but it is way off. still no overdrive. allso i took out the sensor in the tranny line. maybe that has something to do with it? does anyone know the color code for the od solinoid? incase i have it mixed up with temp sensor.

the vss if not functioning will prevent you from having OD. plug the factory temp sensor back in and just wire tie it somewhere or run a jumper on it. you won't have OD if you don't have it plugged in. I don't have mine installed in the line just wire tied it to the top of the trans out of sight.

sorry i needed to update my sig. no i didn't get to install the shiftkit the install took allot longer then i thought and i was alone. needed to have it together for work. i will install the shiftkit next fluid change. i did install a pan with plug which will help. the truck shifts a lot nicer just with the new converter. truck still doesnt have enough power looks like i need a dennyt pin!! even with factory exhaust my pyro rarely goes over 1000 i need more fuel! i heard the pins are quite fun.

yup, in the exhaust manifold towards the back of the truck. i would like to get a fuel pressure gauge and see how thats going. i just don't think my truck has that much power

so. your fuel screw is all the way into the collar?
I've never riden in a first gen with a stock fuel pin, the aftermarket ones make a HUGE difference. your getting full throttle travel right?
Can you make a video of like foot to the floor accel. from a dead stop? i really don't understand how it can't have "much power" unless you drive a 13 second mustang Gt every day or something
these trucks with stock converters with few pump tweaks run pretty good and are driveable,
maybe some dood at the factory put your timing crappy? maybe bump that, it made a big difference in our 93.
EDIT- I see now your truck is a 92... im sure you know by now but you have the lag master 21cm exhaust housing, swap that bad boy out for a non w/g 16cm. < click link
even a 18.5 off a 89-91.0 or 93 would be an upgrade, but i'd go for an aftermarket 16cm unless you stumbled across a 18.5cm. your truck won't even be the same when you get rid of the 21cm. ask anyone on here who upgraded from 21cm to something smaller.
Does'nt it seem like it spools slow? thats because 91.5-92 trucks had a slow spooling 21cm exhuast housing that eventually got complained about SO much that they brought back the 18.5 cm in 1993. it actually messed up the torque curve of the engine because of the point where the turbo lights.
I say get a DennyT pin and a 16cm exhaust housing and you'll be very impressed with how awesome your truck runs at that point, maybe a straight pipe too, or 4" exhaust. You solved the biggest weakness of the truck (converter.)...now everything else is easy!!!
