considering selling truck

brand new trucks are like brand new girlfriends. mighty shiny! buuuut then you have to learn to get along w them. computers are always trying to get you. come to think of it i've had a few girls like that too. don't know if the new ones ride good enough to offset 11.5/12 mpg. i don't think they are going to be running 20 years from now but most don't keep them that long. bought mine new and never had a bit of trouble w it. put a new windshield and a good stereo in it. you'll like it.

I'm lucky enough to have my 04 305 engine witha six speed and I get really good milage, "BUT" guess what I drive more than anything I own...? My 92... The sound and smell of my 92 just seems like a real truck to me... Just get yourself a 16cm turbo housing, shave/grind your fuel pin advance your timing a little and basically do whats in my signature and you'll have a new found respect for your truck and respectable power with good milage!!!

If its the ride of a newer truck your after go with airbags up front and out back and put a good 2nd gen seat in it. I have air bags on front and back of my truck and a good 1st gen seat and I think it rides smoother then my 03 Nissian Xterra and also better then my cousins 99 Ram 1500 quad cab.

my dad sold me the truck in my sig last year, i proceeded to replace all the suspension, get the air ride working, get the pump rebuilt(wow), fix all sorts of small stuff, kingpin rebuild, build a custom bumper, add another underbox, and now it runs almost as fast as his 01 H.O with an edge, rides better, 4x4s better, looks cooler, gets better mileage, and has a way better turning radias. Needless to say, my old pops wants his truck back. Don't sell, drop some money into your old pile. The newer trucks do have way better frames and rear ends, Im planning on adding some plate reinforcement and when i destroy my dana 70, a dana 80 goes in, and wala, a truck that is everybit as good as the new ones.

My vote is for you to keep your truck. It might be an older truck, but that is the beauty of it. It is built to be a REAL truck and made to last. Plus, even at 170,000 miles, it is barely broken in. My truck has 445,000 miles on it, and I've had no problems at all. It is 4 wheel drive and I still get 20+MPG, and the valves have NEVER been adjusted and the timing has NEVER been bumped. Just basic routine maintenance, and that is all it takes. Hope this helps.
