Coiled spring broken but still functioning?

Good morning to everyone it's been a while since I've posted but have found another truck and so I'm back. As I was installing my 366 spring I noticed that one of the coiled spring stops was broken right at the bend where the post for the stops are. It has enuf left that it's resting on about 50% of the post. It was quite shiny and worn so it seems it's been that way for an extended period. I've looked up the part # 1 464 651 430 for about 5 mins this morning(not a thorough search by any means) and turned up nada. Is this a part that can be ordered from Bosch, can it be "rigged", or am I left with my least favorite option of BEGGING. Thanks for helping!!! Randy

If you're talking about the 3200 spring we upgrade our ve pumps with as needing to be replaced, then why not just spend the $20 and get one from ebay. They're readily available, and are a bosch part that usually gets free delivery anywhere in the states.

Ebay has them. Just search for VE 3200 spring, and they come right up. The one I bought came with free shipping and I think I had it in about 3 days.

It's the coiled spring that's on the throttle shaft. I only noticed it when I was installing my 3200 rpm spring. Sorry about the confusion.

You most likely need to get that from a pump repair shop. I have never seen them listed anywhere.

I bought mine from my local BECS fuel injection shop over the counter.

When you replace it you need to pay attention to the shaft indexing and the order of the assembly particularly the fiber washer and the steel washer under the nut.

Best advice is to scribe an index mark and take lots of digital pictures during disassembly.

The post on the lever Item #72 may also be worn.

Pm me and I can direct you on where to get that spring at. I may have the part numbers handy. I assume you're talking about the spring on the throttle shaft itself. The one that returns your throttle

An empty .22 rimfire casing works good for a bushing on that little shaft.

So I did learn something new today.

That the Breakover Spring #306 and #220 return spring are both listed as a wear part.

I repaired my worn down pin using a T&B crimp barrel used by millions of electricians and are available at Home Depot.

Be sure to use a spent cartridge or it might suprise you when you tap it on the shaft.

You will probably have to get that spring from an authorized Bosch repair shop.

See who rebuilds injection pumps in your area, I bought mine from my local BECS shop here in Southern California.

Maybe someone has used one off an old core they would part with.
