Hey guys, That is one of the other things about the VE pumps thats very frustrating. Only a handfull of people know how to get 400Hp out of one It seems that the normal adjustments and grinding the AFC foot is all you hear about. After that it is black magic

I just got my truck back together a week ago. Marine .020" head gasket, resurfaced o-ringed and ported head. Waiting for the 4200 gov spring from Schied. Just got the Hoosier slicks mounted and balanced. Once the spring gets here i'm goin to the track. This winter I plan on twins and 14mm head and rotor! Then maybe top it off with some nitrous to see if I can get into the twelves and have the world's fastest ve pumped first gen. So far the fastest I can find is a 13.68, correct me if I'm wrong. Now I'm just waiting for some more money.
Hey Gilbert, how is that 3800 spring doin?

Stomp is right, it takes a hx40 or bigger to put down 400rwhp with a VE pumped truck. Anything less ain't cutting it. Problem is not fuel, its lack of air.
Rockjeep, it's actually a modified 3800 spring. Cut to stock length. So I imagine its a wide open limit. Fuel til I left off the go pedal or something comes apart. I'm sure its at least 4k rpm. Only the dyno will tell me, soon. I'll tell the operator to run it no higher than 4k rpm, thats if it's still pulling that high.

I am happy for now with it LOL. Give it time and I'll want more. It's a bug. Probly won't have any dyno numbers til spring. There is a dyno event this weekend in St.Louis but I have to work, so I doubt I'll make it. Unless I can get there last afternoon and be able to get on the dyno list.
If you guys have trouble obtaining the 4200 spring, get a 3800 spring. I got mine next day from Scheids. Evidently the 3800 is more common that the 4200. Or at least in stock in the states. Then just trim the longer 3800 spring to stock length and I bet you'll have a WIDE OPEN spring. Fuel til you let off. IE 4000+. Or take a stock spring and take a few loops off it, but then you'll have to reindex the throttle lever cause at the stock #2 index mark you'll be idling above 1000rpm. This is from the shorter spring. Although I don't know where the fuel limit will be with a shorter spring. You would have alot of throttle travel though with the lever indexed at #1 index mark.
