Chosing a compressor side

I am wanting to change the compressor on my 93, but unsure of which one to go with, im pretty sure the stage IV is the one, If not for the sheer fact I can tell everyone its a stage IV. lol
But how do i choose? I see lots of stage III's going on.

If it makes a difference, im going to go with the 14cm wastegated exhaust housing.
Thanks in advance!

Your best bet would be to call HTT and talk to one of their techs. I have talked to them a time or two and they were quite helpful. I have heard that if you have too big a compressor (i.e. 60mm Stg3), you can get compressor surge. What you get will depend on your airflow needs and future plans for more power.

JR, how soon do you plan for injectors...for that matter, has your pyro come in the mail yet?

I just installed a stage III with a 16 hot side and I am very happy with it. I gained about 5 lbs psi boost and exhaust temps went down a little. The stage IVs were backordered 4 to 5 weeks and $100.00 more so with that combined with the fact that I don't plan on radical upgrades and I use my truck mainly to pull my camper I decided on the stage III. HTT thought stage IV was too much. I get no surge and no more turbo bark and a great turbo whistle so I am happy.

When I called to order my Stage 3 they were on back order. So the tech suggested a Stage 4. So I went with that. Me likey. I wish I could have ordered a Stage 7.

I intend to go with a 14 cm housing and a stage III or IV also. I obviously want her to breath better but what I really want is that great turbo sound. My '98 had a great sounding turbo and I want my first gen to have it now.

My question is: Is there a big difference in sound between a III and a IV? What gives the best sounding turbo? What other things should I do to make it sound better?

Thanks,
JP.

I think you would like the stage IV better and it would give you a little more room to grow for the future.
