Checking Engine Timming on 1992 Dodge Ram Cummins Turbo Diesel

Checking Engine Timming on 1992 Dodge Ram Cummins Turbo Diesel
I've got a '92 dodge ram 250 with the cummins diesel and was wondering what are the steps to checking the engine timing. I do know that the timing pin has to be pushed in to find TDC. Thanks for any help.

are you talking about injection timeing or cam timing

To check it by the book requires a dial indicator and adapter, such as Snap On Part Num YA8331, inserted into the end of the pump.

Pushing the timing pin in to find TDC is the first step in adjusting teh valves..is this what you are referring to?
