cheaper throttle linkage fix.
the package you see is $9.97 from the local dodger dealer. i thought it was kinda dumb that the replacement end kit had 2 ends with regular threads when the original has one regular and one reverse. so here was my solution. since no one in my town carries metric threaded rod i had to use 2 bolt and weld them head to head ($1.18) tax included it all cost less than $12
to get it through cummins would have been $33 + $15 if i wanted it in less than 2 week and i would have had to spend about $10 in fuel and my time to get it!

Not likely. Your problem is either in the accelerator cable or in the bellcrank. Pull the throttle bracket off the side of the engine and take the bellcrank apart. I've seen a couple trucks now where the shaft was rusty causing binding. If all is good in there, replace the cable.

Dave,
were your ends worn and about to fall off ?
i resantly posted on that subject, mine are and one is cracked.
i`ve been buisy building a diffrent truck and havent had time to invesergate the problem ,Thanks for an answer to my problem.
Mine allowed about 1/2 in + movement in shaft so i know i`m loosing a lot in acceleration.

I replaced mine aboput amonth ago and noticed also that the threaded rod section is a little longer than the stock one was, and that the end-cups are now metal and longer, vs the original plastic.
It took some fine filing to get it back done to the size of the stock pieces..

The problem my truck had was worn out bellcrank bushings. The bellcrank was just wallowing around instead of transfering all the motion to the pump rod.
