Changing Pinion angle dana 60
I have heard that you can change the pinion angle of your front axle to better match the driveshaft, but I am wondering how many degrees, or how much lower in the front without making it unsafe? Any ideas? Thanks!

Well I am in the process of deciding what size drop hangers I want to get for the front of the springs. If I have the drop hangers made slightly longer than the shackles I will improve my driveshaft angle. This is the only lift the truck is getting. It will keep the stock springs that are bent backwards for now. lol I know that if I go too far it is kind of dangerous because the wheels will not have as much camber/caster? to them when they turn, so I don't know how much to go.

angled shims between the spring and perch will help some, but like you mentioned, the more you tilt the axle the less caster you have, and steering becomes goofy. With my 6" lift I had shims that were about 1/2" thick toward the rear to a point at the front. They came with the skyjacker lift springs. It drove ok, but you could feel a big difference in the steering, like it wanted to drift a lot more.

if you cant the knuckles forward, youll negatively impact your caster, and tire wear. i changed the angle grinding the knuckle welds to spin the pinion up, the reset the knucks back to 1* positive (top leaning toward rear) rewelded knuckles, i can say, that was a lot of work
