Changing the fuel filter?

Well I want to change my fuel filter as I dont know when the previous owner did it last Is it just like changing an oil filter or is there more to it? If somebody could post or pm me some tips/tricks to changing this thing out that would be great! I know its a stupid question but I have never done this before.

I notice that there is a valve on the bottom of the filter. I know that its for draining water out of the filter, but my new fleetgaurd filter didnt comewith one. Do I swap the valve over to the new one or what?
Once again excuse my ignorance (but hey I want to learn as much as I can)

just like oil fliter on bottom unplug the elec. and turn the filter slowly and move wire around with make sure you dont twist the wires they could break when it is out the carefully unscrew the water drain and just reinstall it with new seals it comes with make sure you pull down on water drain to make sure it is closed so with you start the truck you dont have fuel leak it is over all really easy

Also be sure the little rubber O-ring gets replaced on the shaft the filter screws on to. It normally says up there.

The valve simply unscrews, install new O-ring again and snug it up, then install like a oil filter and plug in connector.

don't forget to fill the filter with fresh clean fuel before putting back on, or you'll have a bear of a time getting it started.
