Changed CPS, still no alt chrg/o.d ??

Well, did the kdp on project dually today and put everything back togatehr with a new CPS from cummins and Im still not charging or over drive. I also had the alt tested and it is working fine. So, I'm thinking maybe swapping a computer to try that. maybe you guys can throw some ideas out that I'm over looking.

What's the gap and did you try tightening it up a few thou?

And you're sure the wiring harness isn't chafed?

At that point, try another PCM if you have it. Also check continuity between the sensor plug and the PCM plug to make sure the wires are OK.

Well, I set the gap at a nice tight .050.

I went thru all the spots where it would wear, it all looked good. Man I was sure hoping the cps would take care of it. I hate guessing with money when it comes to electrical components. Good thing there is only a few sensors on the old girl.

You can also add an external regulator off of a 70's Mopar or there are instructions on one of the diesel forums about adding an internal regulator to the ND alternator on your truck.
