Carlisle Mopar show Crew 2022

Who is making the show this year?

Charlotte and I will be heading down. Likely in our newly finished project, dubbed Project Covid. We called it that as it was what we did with the "extra free time" during Covid shutdowns.

I could come if I didn't need to take out a second on my house to pay for fuel.

I am not going to let $300 worth of fuel costs, double what it used to be, ruin our favorite long weekend of the year.

In case you where wondering on the math - 1000 miles round trip, getting about 20 MPG = 50 gallons of diesel. At $6 a gallon that is $300.

It is the only time each year we see dozens of our Mopar friends from around the USA.

The way we do it camping out, and bringing a lot of our own food and drinks, it ends up a fairly cheap vacation. The show fee is about $60 for our rig in the show field for the weekend and 2 show passes for the show.

I agree with Oliver on the matter of fuel cost. I have a 350 mile round trip and that only comes to about $50 more than last year. Last year was my first car show and I did not know the ropes about finding different areas of the property. This year I will be dialed in and hope meet some of the members. What is the Covid car/truck and where will it be?

It's 1158 miles from Commerce OK. and 17 1/2 hours according Google Maps. My truck gets 19.5 mpg so figure about 60 gallons one way. 120 gallons times $6.00 (est) = $720. More than I want to spend. I would sure like to visit though. Maybe someone knows of a show that's a bit closer to Okiehoma.

Project Covid is our '92 club cab D250 turned into W-250 with some other upgrades along the way. There is a build thread on here that details most of the build and has a few pictures of it.
It is a Maroon and gold colored two tone truck. I will have it in the '81-'93 stock truck class. It will most likely be parked right next to a friend from VT with his REALLY pretty '92 Red and White [I call it the Candy cane paint job] W-250 parked next to me. It will be his first Carlisle trip.

Awesome! I really look forward to hanging out over a IPA or two and chatting. Last year was a hilariously good time learning new PA. and Virginia slang, ETC.
NJTman will be there.
I bet MrFusion is his handle on here will be there for the whole weekend too.

Awesome! Last year was a great time, even though we may have harassed some locals regarding Central Pennsyltucky jargon. I'll text Mr Fusion to see if he plans to participate in this year hankyness.

We are planning to be there Friday morning. I look forward to meeting you.
My daughter and I are really looking forward the the long weekend show.

Still wrenching on Project Covid, but I plan to have it back on the road again after this weekend. I brought it into the shop to modify the suspension a bit, lower the front bump stop and bunch of other minor tweaks. Most of them revolve around making the 37s work a bit better for me and the front fenders..

Hey Oliver. I will be there. Can you message me. For some reason it won't allow me to message you. I'm looking for something and if you have it I might see if you can bring it to Carlisle

This Chrysler National Show was one of the biggest shows ever, with over 3000 cars on the Showfield. I had a great time with Olliver, Charlotte, Walt, Island Bill, TJman, Mr Fusion and everyone else that stopped by to look at old, beat up, shiny, or overly pampered trucks. Possibly the best weekend of the summer, in my opinion. If you haven't been here, you should be. It's an experience like no other....
