cant believe the price
just turned up the pump on a friend of a friends truck. its a 1993 w250. about 200,000 Kms on it. its a 5 speed thats fully loaded. the tranny was just rebuilt along with a new injection pump. he told me he paid 7300$ for it. the box is garbage and the roof has holes big enough to put my fist through. am i being cheap or did he do alright?

Thats a bummer man. We deal with rust buckets around here too...
I got ripped when I paid $4500 for my 93 Ford 4x4 diesel 5 years ago and it looked beautiful with the new paint when I bought it. Rust bled through hard 1 year later. I'll just say if it looked like that when I first looked at it, I would not consider $3000, or even $2500.

Yeah I stopped to look at a 96 4X4 dually today. trans is questionable, it needs six new tires, looks really beat up, lots of rust, and it used to be a plow truck. The owner walked out and said he wanted $6000! I told him I wouldn't give him $3000 for it!

Some guys think they are selling gold simply because the Cummins and they heard somewhere that guys will pay ridiculous prices for them. When you point out the multiple flaws, the answer is always "ya, but it has a Cummins"..... I've run into it several times sadly.

ive run into guys who think they know what their talking about to. this kid, 16 years old, is quickly becoming one, he said he had been reading on the internet how to get power out of them. he then proceeded to try to tell me how to turn up the pump. he then pointed to the power steering box and said" turn the valve on down there to really turn it up" to which i laughed. i turned the fuel screw in 3/4 turn and he loved it and thought i was a genious. haha hell be back for more

did i mention he only has temporary plates on it, which means he still hasnt saftied it. just driving it i could see it needed the frame fixed near the power steering box and all new brakes judging by the squeel they made when the pedal finally found the mat

Thats why I've travelled to buy my trucks. They're pretty bad for rust, but throw in an area that has the weather we have plus the salt thats used in the winter, they turn into rust behmoths over the years.
I posted pics of a truck that has a little over 100, 000 Kilometers (62 thousand miles) and the truck is rusted beyond repair. The interior is mint and so is the drive train. The guy thinks its worth way more because of the low miles!!!!! I've told him if the body wasn't rotting off the frame I might agree; sadly he still has it for sale.
