Hey Furious. I take it you are having problems with the peddle feeling stiff? Before you go to the extreme of changing anything, Look at the return spring for the throttle linkage on the pump. One end should hook into the throttle shaft and the other on the top of the gear housing. On mine, there are 2 springs, one inside the other. If you take one of the springs out and just run one, you will notice a difference in peddle effort. I didnt like mine though because it was actually too touchy with the PODs.

Just something I thought I would pass on.
Monty

much of the throttle effort on the early trucks was from the throttle control cable to the auto trans. there is a factory fix for the problem but it is expensive. i cut a few coils off the spring on the cable on mine, made sure it was lubed well which made mine acceptable.

the 89 and 90's we have are sticks. The stiffness is one thing, but it also seems as tho the progressiveness of the pedal is different. I barely touch the pedal in my 91 and things happen. You have to give the pedal a good push b4 much happens with the other trucks, and they're bombed as much as mine at least

Did you ever experiment with the throttle spring?

no, I haven't been home to try anything, but it seemed as tho the spring was a separate issue
