I have a non I/C engine that has a couple of pistons melted out of it. my question is if i replace my intercooled cam with a non I/C will i get a performance upgrade with the mods that i have done. just kickin the idea around a little.

Not 100% sure but I think the non I/C cam is slightly better. You would be way better off just getting a Diesel Pros drop in tho.

Im pretty sure to deal with egt issues without a i/c on the early 12v's they installed cams with longer and larger durrations to help move more air which = cooler egt's. SO yes i do believe youll notice a slight diff.

Would the valve clearances be the same though? I mean, with bigger cam lobes would he be running a risk of hitting pistons at high RPM's without better springs? Just a question.....
