A/C experts/advice

DTR !

While I have never done a dodge A/C system, I've done a bunch. I have some questions.

I found http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/ac/compressors-41.php

Looks like a new compressor is $150 for an SD709. But when I look at Sanden International's website, it appears like they don't make 709's anymore, but just the newer models. The never mention China, but the 50X series being made in Singapore. Humm, but in 709 ads I see reference to China.

My system I'm going to rebuild it- rework hoses, new compressor, expansion valve, switch etc. Recharge it with R-12. The cost of R-12 vs R134a isn't a big deal and I'll recover probably a pound out of the system now. So, that's only a bit out of my big bottle.

Has anyone found an improved parallel flow condensor that is plug and play. Bigger area? I'm still planning on stuffing a bigger/improved intercooler in the front and worry about everything fitting.

A/C can never be to cold -especially on 100F+ days. That's why I'm keeping mine R-12.

Here's the link to Sanden's current compressors:

Do these trucks have a 6, 7, or 8 groove belt? What type of head? What type of endplate?
