buying a turbo

im thinking about buying a d-tec 64-71-12 to go with the 6-16 injecter im getting will that combo work well in a pulling truck or should i go bigger on the turbo any input will be appreciated

I think with a turbo that big you will have A hard time staying on top of it pulling, a 62/71/12 or 14 might be better.

what is ed 63/68 and i thought i would be ok with the big turbo becouse of the 5 speed but it kind of sounds like thats not the case and i mite be wasting alot of money on a big one

I thought it'd be the opposite. With a stick, you're going to loose boost when you change gears, so it'll take longer to build boost back up again with a big turbo.

I had a 14 housing on my 62/65 it was slow to spool. The 12 suits it much much better for daily driving but as for straight pulling it may be ok.

I'm running a 60/65/12 and it spools right away, but with the small housing when i pull hard or sled pull it runs 40psi and chokes at high rpm. i'd like the 14cm housing for daily driving, bet it'd work well for sled pulling.

I think the 64/71 should work for pulling as long as you can spin the engine to 3,500-4,000 on the line.
