Buy the autometer inductive probe seperate?

I just picked up my new cab to replace on my rusted out 89 d250. It was actually a former 1990 military tug. I bought it from someone who just wanted the engine/trans. It only has 19K original miles. The cab has an old autometer tach, looks like the 2888. He wouldn't sell me the inductive probe strapped to the alternator. Can I buy this probe seperate, or do I have to buy a new tach to get it?
I saw this inductive trigger on the website, this doesn't have anything to do with my tach does it?

This is the tach...sorry it's a small pic...

i don't know that the probe you're looking at is the right one. i believe the tach you have is a sport comp series. i have the same one and the inductive pick up doesn't look like the one you linked to. you can try doing some searching on summit racing's site. here's a link to a newer autometer sport comp series tach... Auto Meter 3788

at the bottom of the overview it mentions an inductive probe that straps to the alternator. i would imagine that means if you buy the tach it comes with the probe. i would suggest calling autometer, and explain your situation and see what they can do for you.

Ya I have not found a site that has a listing for just the inductive probe. I guess I will have to make some calls and see what they can do.

Thanks
