brown wire coming ?going to firewall plug

anyone know what the brown wire (12 or 14 GA i think) coming from the wire harness that "plugs" into the firewall goes to, It has been cut in my truck and i am curious what it is/was for. i can find no trace of where it came from or goes to.

BTW:the fuseable links are removes and now there is a fuse block in it's place

trying to figure out why a/c compressor won't come on and wondering if there's a relation of the 2

thanks

I don't know exactly, but I do know that 1 of the wires that goes throughout the ac system is a brown wire. One of the 2 going to the clutch is a brown wire, you may be on to something...Mark
