Brought the new truck home!

Yesterday I brought the new (used) '91 W250 home. About 18 mpg at 75 mph, around 18mpg at 55-70. Not bad for a 5250lb 4x4! The left front tire has some wear on the inside corner and it wanders a bit so tomorrow it's going in for an alignment to help it out.

It was great on the road though. I was surprised how evenly the diesel pulls at all speeds - it just never slows down!

When I get pictures I'll post one.

I like it!

Denis

Thanks, it rocks!

Next thing is to investigate whether the kdp is an issue in this truck.

I meant to write that it gets about 19mpg at 55-70. Is that about average for this body style (4x4, etc)?

yup, that's good mpg for winter fuel (I assume you'll have winter fuel there). I was getting 19.5 in mixed driving with my highway tread tires and winter fuel. 21.5 in the summer. Now that I've gotten aggressive tires, I'm down to 17.5mpg on the winter fuel. Still working on trying to fix that dip

We do have winter fuel around here, but it's been lowkey since a study was made that indicated it did help emissions, but that it lowered fuel economy, so it was a tossup as to whether it's really of any value.

The tires on mine a 6-ply Michelins. Pretty nice, and pretty expensive!

I'm looing forward to getting 20-21 in the summer. It's in the shop this am for an alignment and inspection.

Thanks, I've driven nothing else since I got it home!

Three people in the last 2 days have tried to crash into it! I though this only happened when you bought NEW trucks!

It's inevitable ...

They were probably all subconscious diesel freaks & were drawn to it like a moth to a flame ...

I think our dog has the same 'disease' ...

CUMMINS POWWWWWWER!!!

P.S. Oh ... & congrats in finally making it to the darkside.
