November 5th will be the day to see who comes out on top! When I was stationed in Jacksonville, FL years ago I had a 2000 chevy dyno 323whp with just a aftermarket muffler. So the true test will be both top trucks on the same dyno the same day. Thatll eliminate variables.

Both trucks are well built, and its amazing to see a small 62mm turbo able to make 850whp with nitrous. A turbo that small is good for a daily driver as well as being able to tow. So I wouldnt call Jasons truck a dyno queen. Even though he couldnt beat my 5 speed down the 1/4. Hahaha.

Who ever wins Nov 5th, good luck to both of you! Yall have lit a fire under me and I plan to catch up very soon.

You think you could tow with a 62/65/14 and 5x.025s?

The turbo, most definatly. The injectors, all you have to do is drive by the egt gauge. Thats a very common practice for higher hp trucks. Itll tow very well, as long as you dont tow at WOT.

I ran my 6x.016s with the stock h1c for awhile before I built twins. About the same difference as running the 5x.025s with the 62/65/14. Towing with it would be a smokey, pyro pegging PITA.

on this current tear down and build I'm at about $8k under the hood. Still need a larger set of injectors, and then I can work on the trucks appearance. I figure by the time I put $15k into it, the truck will be perfect. May sound like alot, but it will be 1/3 the cost of a new diesel, run much faster, and get better mpg. not that that really matters.

IF my truck will have the power to push thru the wind, then it will do about the same top speed at 4,000rpm at 163mph. Doubt either of us will ever actualy run that fast though. I think he was pulling your leg on top speed though. I'm quoting 163mph top speed running an OD trans with 3.07 gears and 31.6" tires. Unless he is running his rpm even higher.

$40,000 is very easy to hit in a truck you want to run 10's, especialy if you pay shops to do the work.

I thought so too, but I might actually try it. On the way back, I was able to climb a 5% grade at 3,000 feet with no smoke, and only 900 deg on the pyro. Granted I was in 3rd gear with the converter locked, but I still think I could probably tow as long as I kept the rpms up and speed down.

Somebody could duplicate what I've done for about $15K, and that's mostly retail prices, not buddy/buddy or used stuff.

I really believe a guy can build 350 hp for 3-5k, and i'm talkin trans to, and 450 hp for 7k.

were not tolkin a dyno, or drag, or pullin truck, but a good dependable usuable towable truck like Snoot, Ahineman, and some others have.

Are we getting that info on the dyno soon? Like the setup you used, tune, timing, nitrous setup, boost pressure, ect.....

ok then just give me the good half, and put the other half in the mag.

What is the magic number 1/4 mile wise for a getrag first gen to be in the mag?
