Thanks Swank, I checked my rear brakes and they look fine as far as the thickness goes{ they are about 75%} the fronts are about 50% or better. When they get to the point of replacement I will do the mods {3" shoes and the 1 ton wheel cyclinders.} Right now they seem to work ok haven't had any braking problems but I only pull my boat in the summer months and only put 4000 miles a year on the truck. --Ray

as far as a possible rust issue, i've got SPECIAL paint that converts gm parts to chrysler. making them totally harmless.
