Bouncy Voltmeter after External Regulator Swap
If you have done the swap and notice your voltmeter is bouncing a lot at idle, try running a dedicated ground wire back to the battery and see if that helps.
I ran one from one of the ground bolts back. I should note that I mounted my regulator on the passenger side firewall (since there was plenty of room) and there isn't a good body ground anywhere near the area.
I just did it tonight and the difference was significant.

I would recommend reading this thread:

good info in there also on making the dodge regulator work.
