Both feet jumped

Well, I finallly jumped on board with those 3rd gen members. Purchased a 2005 2500 4x4 qc swb laramie last yesterday. Fully loaded except sunroof. I was told that they stopped making the sunroofed models. My 1st gen is hopefully out the door real soon as I will just trade it to purchase a new car for the wife. Hate to see that thing go to a dealer as I am sure they won't give me any good $$ for it as it does need body work and some little mechanical stuff to make everything perfect and working again (a/c, cruise). They will probably just ship it to an auction block so keep your eyes open for a white 1st gen that really moves out. It should be about 325 hp at the wheels if you take it for a test drive.

I can't believe that you are letting her go after all of that work!! I hope this doesn't mean that you will be a stranger around here now . . .

Enjoy the new truck!!

As loing as they don't boot me off the 1st gen site, I plan to visit. It just started to be more $$ to keep going great then buying performance parts to make it go faster. Plus this new one was ordered special by someone that wanted a sunroof. When Dodge stopped making them and it took so long for it to come in, this guy bailed on the deal. So they had a fully loaded truck they just got in about 3 weeks ago and nobody would even touch it due to the price. But, they just wanted to get rid of it instead of having it sit there, Got a good deal on it.

congrats on the new ride.

Just that I told myself long ago I would not spend more than 10K on something to drive. Maybe in 10-15 years I will have one.

Sell your old rig here on the board, would get more for it than to some dealer who thinks it is just an old junker. Or sell the aftermaket parts to me

I think you could do better on your old truck if you sell your new parts and put your old parts back in. If its going to be wholesaled anyway they wont give you much and nothing extra for the fuel pin, pdr hx35 etc. If you have your old stuff put it back on and sell the rest on e bay. Or try selling the whole thing on e bay to someone who can appreciate the good stuff you have on there.

whats "a good deal on it" mean? was it under $50k?
there really aren't many "good deals" out there anymore
unless you happen to know someone in the business.
I bought mine for $50.00 (yes, fifty bucks!) over cost because
i know the dodge dealer owner.
most of these trucks are in the $45 - $50k range. thats not a good
price.
Also, mine is a 4 door, 3500 dually 6 spd 4x4, 325/610 with banks 6 gun.
what a difference!

It ended up since I did have a trade from a 4-runner about 15K (after trade). But we did owe some money on that so it did bring the price back up. So final was in the 41k - 43k loaded. It listed for 48k. I mostly figure that the payments were only about $200 more/ month then the 4-runner and I would rather be driving THIS then that. Though THAT was my wife's car.... LOL. So now hoping to get something tonight for her. Hence my 92 1st gen 325 rwhp is up for sale REAL FAST. I plan on bringing to dealer tonight to check on trade but I really doubt they will give me more then $1500 or so, even with a Blizzard plow (it will just go to auction). So I might hang on and sell real quick on this forum (you'd be smart to check it out) just to get rid of it. Hate to see it go to the auction block to some idiot that doesn't know anything diesels and start fooling with it.

$4500 would be nice as I think it is worth at least that much and it does have full plow. Drive it home without a problem.

$4500 WITH the plow? Isn't that close to what that plow costs new?!

Scott, sell it outright. You won't notice the $1500 difference in payment.

Yeah, it isn't being traded. Confirmed last night they would only give me $500 for everything. So will sell for $4000 firm or have one hell of a plow truck next year to just plow my yard. New the plow was about $ 4500 or so but it is going on the 3rd year and one piston needs to be replaced so the wing will scoop out and in. It goes out but doesn't come back in. Mount broke off due to some stupid driver that had it out when backing up and it caught on a ice bank while truck was turning and driver wasn't watching up front. Upon checking later that night, broke the mount inside but looks easy to replace. Oh, did I mention the driver's name..... SCOTT of course..LOL. stupid mistake.

If you were closer I'd buy it and swap all the good parts into mine, including the trans, sell the plow to my brother, then fix the ac & cruise & sell it. The trans is worth half the price of the truck. Can't believe the dealer only willing to give 500, they got a lot of nerve. Whats the weather like in vermont this time of year? I could plow all the way across the country.

I can understand the dealer as they mentioned anything older then 5 years, they just ship right to auction without even trying to fix it, unless it is mint condition. I didn't even bring the truck there because it isn't mint condition. Just cheaper for them to do that then deal with fixing it and then making sure it is up to legal standards to pass inspection and stuff like that.

Vermont is beautiful this time. Snow is pretty much gone except in the mountains. It has been in the 50's - 60's but drops still down to high 30's - 40's during the night making great sleeping weather. only bad part is now our next season, MUD SEASON. We have Summer, Winter, Mud season here and that is about all. So the frost coming out of the ground makes some roads closed due to weight restrictions. Must be a pain for the logging or heavy trucks around here to be stopped half way down a road and find out the next 5 miles are closed due to their size. Back up and find another way around I guess.

I wish you had put her up for sale a year ago -- would have bought it instead of the plow for my truck . Oh well, no $$ right now for a second truck.

By the way -- I don't think you are really getting 325 to the rear wheels in that new ride . . . so is your sig really fair that way ?

That was mostly just the model type I guess. No way is it 325 to the rear on this new on. Though you can feel the difference from the old one, they were getting there.
