Is is too late to return it? You could have got the Borgenson for about the same price and not have to replace it in a couple years after it wears out again. But if you're going that route, I think all you really needed to get was the coupler, a ~$30 part.

It was factor new, the whole shaft, from box to steering Column. It was $220 for the Borgenson. I don't like the set screw method to retain the shaft in place. Like the clamps better.
