Borgenson Install
Got a Borgenson steering shaft installed the other day - just what the doctor ordered! Few things to note for anybody doing this job:
1) Roll pin was total edit to get out. Make sure you have the right size drift and keep at it for awhile, it'll let go eventually. Kroil helped, I think.
2) Jam a wood block in behind it real good to save the PS pump seal. Half hour of beating on it and no leaks afterwards!
3) If the new yoke don't seem to fit inspect the splines on the shaft you just got done beating the crap out of. Somehow the mangled roll rin chewed it just enough to foul it. Cleaned up a couple small burs w/a dremel and the new one went right back on.
4) Should probably do on-center adjustment of the steering box 1st. Needed a track shift couple turns to the left to get the wheel level. Will shift it one more spline to the right tomorrow to see if it centers better.
Where's that on-center adjustment procedure I asked about a few weeks ago?
Cheers!

Did mine last weekend only took about three hours tp install. The roll pin comes out easier from one side then the other, any amount of work involved in the swap was well worth it=drives like a new truck best 200.00 I have spent.
BTW I got it from Summit only took three days to show up.

Copy that! I still cannot believe how badly they under-engineered that steering coupler. I mean, for a 4ton+ vehicle, that thing could potentially very dangerous if somebody keeps driving one too long. I saw in another thread here somewhere where the guy actually said his steering was jamming up and he found the locating blocks inside it broken up into four pieces!
