Blown rear freeze plug....
Allright guys, this looks like what I am facing....
As far as right now I am looking at taking the transmission out, and replacing the plug with one of Keating's bolt-in plate plugs....
This sound like the best option?

Yea that'd work. Or you could just put a new plug in and put on a electric water pump.
When you turn lots of rpm's the water pump presurizes the system and that's why the plugs blow.

I replaced mine with one of those covers that has the fitting that would normally be run to the optional air compressor. I instead run it to the transmission heat exchanger.

I recommend unscrewing the radiator cap, driving another truck under the cap and tighten. Depending on the condition of the radiator cap of course. My new pump shipped today, will be ready for that p-pump vrs VE grudge match soon. Hurry up and get yours fixed.

When mine blew at Ponci's even a couple of years ago, Brad was able to drop the back end of the tranny down enough on the rack to drive in a new one and bolt in a retaining strap. Saved a bit of time not having to unbolt the tranny.
