block heater removal proceedure for 91 dodge cummins
I just picked up a replacement 1800 watt block heater and the unit is similar to old defective unit. It appears to be pressed in to the block and I cant figure out how to remove the old unit. I am assuming it is drilled and pryed out like a block plug?

davedaddy, right in the center of the heater is an allen bolt. Loosen it and pry out the heater, it has an 0-ring on it but comes right out

if i remember correctly, it is hard to see the bolt because it is under the receptacle that the cord plugs into, but it is there---one more thing, grab the threaded receptacle with channellocks and heater pulls right out

I am sure proud that you asked this question as I have a seap around mine and was needing to know how to get it out.
How can I stop my seap?? Possibly tighten the allen screw??
