biodiesel

Hey there.

Finally got back on the road with my 92. After the first injector pump started leaking, it was worn out and could not be rebuilt. It turned out that the second injector pump I had was bad too so I had to have the two rebuilt into one. Luckily I found the actually only local rebuilder and he cut me a deal so after buying back the parts of the second pump it only cost $500 to rebuild.

Now I am interested in using my science classes to make biodiesel and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with it. One local brewer has good luck but didn't realize you had to filter it and his first batch clogged his injectors.

I have been brewing my own for a while now. I run it 100% in all of my diesels. The only issues I have had is that I have to keep my foot on the go pedal on the first start-up of the day or the engine will die.

If you are talking about making bio at a school, you will need to look into safe handling of the methanol an lye. Another issue that catches up to you quickly is the disposal or ???? of the glycerin.

You can make bio on a small scale in a blender. One of these days, I want to see if you can make a gas powered rc car run on bio.

Why don't you load me up a few hundred gallons (of WVO) when you roll in next week? Trade you chrome stack for it?

Holler when you leave VA... will have a few chilling when you get here!
