Been awhile since I was in AZ, picking up an old Dodge....I might not be able to take you up on that beer right off.
I am glad to help. Low buck upgrades, like 24V balancers or turbos on early non intercooled motors, are something I do enjoy.
Improving my ride with some leftover stuff around the shop.
Post back your results after the balancer install.

You remembered correctly Oliver....
Yes I have a fluidampr on my motor they don't officially offer it for 89-93 motors but I bought it anyway and figured I could make it work. Originally it was on my 89 motor and I had no issues, but when I went with a 93 motor I had issues with clearance between the fan blades and the balancer. I had to put shims between the clutch fan and fan hub to move the fan out 1/4" or so, I still get the odd contact from time to time mostly under hard acceleration or high RPM's.

I went with the fluidampr kit when I did my head gasket and front seals. It's pricey but it came with a nice bracket for the CPS and it made the shut-off squeal go away. Best $500 I ever spent. I think I even splurged for the arp bolt kit. Done once, done right, never do it again. My stock balancer was actually missing like 1/3 of the rubber

mine was off in some spots no rubber missing but the fact that the vibration starte under full on throttle towing 7000 up over 7200 feet makes me think it is that..specially after redoing the driveshaft and balancing tires...Mine was not a real big vibration more a rhythmic one...was your really big with that much rubber missing or not?

new one done
SO..finally got the new balancer and installed it...seems to be running much smoother and no vibrations but only took it 2 miles around here..Also pics for the difference in size and condition between the stock 160 and the 215 one the tach pick up still fits which is great..the belt is pretty tight against a couple of the nuts and pulleys BUT it doesn't seem to rub
Thanks again you guys!
Huge difference in size but runs smoother now it seems
