Best Muffler to quieten truck without losing Power
When I cut my muffler off about 8 years ago, which was the first thing I did to the truck, it made a noticeable difference in power from stock. Since then, I am getting tired of all the noise, and driving my truck longer distances now, so I want to put a muffler back on it, however I don't want to lose the power. Any suggestions on a quiet no power loss muffler?

on mine i've found that a generic 4" straight through muffler, and a 45deg turn down tip cuts a lot of the noise down.
flowmasters are for cars.

Flowmasters are just plain bad... My 92 had a Cherry Bomb Vortex(very similar to a flowcan) on it when I got the truck with no tailpipe. Replacing the muffler with a chunk of flex pipe and a stock tailpipe netted a 250 degree drop in EGT at 60 mph cruise... We won't even mention under load...

hey-Hey!!!,
Any experience with the Aeroturbine out there? I have to admit their ad copy has me curious and interested.
PapeCAT, how does that muffler sound? Any whine from the turbo get through? How loud is it( roughly speaking )?
cheers,
Douglas

The Muffler was very quiet, not throaty. It is basically a standard 4" vertical (or horizontal) piece used on medium/heavy duty trucks. You can hear the turbo, but mostly just the cold side of the turbo out of the engine compartment. You can hear it a bit from the tail pipe as well. Overall it sounds great and makes it sound like a stock big rig

I run a giant donaldson stack muffler, like pictured above. As was said, sounds like a stock class 8 tractor which, in my book, is pretty cool[cool] Lemmie dig up a couple vids of it on my '89.....
