Best converter for the money?

I am in need of a new TC. I am only in high school so i don't have a lot of money so i am looking for the best TC for the money. I am going to be putting pod's in and a htt stage IV turbo upgrade for the h1c in the summer, so i need a converter that will hold that. Also would i benefit from installing a trans go shift kit, they are not too expensive and want to know if it would be worth it. Thanks to all of those who reply.

I am really happy with my Goerend. Not sure what his prices are like for the 1st gen converter's. Also; I do reccomend the transgo. Helped mine a decent little bit. Was worth the $50 i spent on it for sure. I am wanting a full VB now, but the transgo as well worth the $ spent on it.

I have the Hughes converter and I'm really happy with it. I also have the Trans-Go TFOD-Diesel kit installed. It firmed the shifts up a touch but not to the point of being harsh, something I've encountered with the "RV/performance" shift kits I've used in the past and wanted to avoid this time around.

I was on hughes's site, they seem like a really good product for a good price. I was also on the trans-go website. What is the difference between the shift kit and the reprogramming kit?

The TFOD-Diesel kit takes care of some of the factory issues with the transmission (converter drainback, no fluid circulation in park, etc). The reprogramming kit will probably address those issues, as well as change the shift points and make it shift firmer (probably *much* firmer) than stock.

Give Dale a call at the Tucson Hughes location and tell him what your plans are. He is a great guy and very knowledgable, and will steer you in the right direction.
