bearing replacement bottom end?s
i was thinkin of rollin in some new rod and mains and inspect my linings anyone ever done this in frame? can i just putt my front cross member and drop my pan or is this going to be more than a 5 hour job? don't wanna pull the engine to do this all im really tryin to do is get a little beter oil pressure a t idle it falls to like 8psi and i thought spec. was 10psi. i know i am nit picin but thats not much pressure plus i got over 400,000 miles on her and only owned her about 3 months er so. plus im wanten to put a manual trans in which im about 2 weeks away from gettin. so any words of wisdom? already got the bearings and pan seal.

pull the motor, flip it and put a set of bearings in it, probably wouldnt hurt to put a head gasket on it either at 400K with a set of studs, in frame on that truck would be almost impossible. the tranny will be out so its about 5 more bolts and its ready to pull. also fix the KDP while its apart, new front and rear main seals, run the valves and have the injectors pop tested, it would be worth it to pull it apart, does it blue smoke any at all??? rings might not hurt either. then you will have a "new" engine.

valve lash specs, all of your bearing clearances, all of your normal tolerances, a master rebuild kit with pistons are 600 i think, from www.dieselcare.com dont forget the water pump and oil pump.
