battery or starter????

hey guys my truck has been getting really hard to start,,the injector pumps been leaking and i have bleeding the injectors to start it but i think my starter is going out cause it drains the battery fast a fully charged battery is good to turn it over 5 times,,i have a small battery but its the ame ive had in it for 2 years,,i replaced it with a brand new one but it still kills it fast..the voltage regulator has started going over a little and bouncing,,,any help would be appreciated....

Pretty straight forward to diagnose. Have the battery load tested as it is right out of the truck.
If it's good, it's the starter.
If it's bad, charge it, preferably overnight, and test it again.
If it's good, top it off (charge) and put it in the truck.
If it cranks slow, it's the starter.
If it cranks good, your charging system is lacking, probably VR, but maybe the alternator.

Notice the series of if-then statements. It is important to execute them in the order given.

Our trucks should have an 1100 CCA battery. Anything smaller and it can be drained quickly because of grid heaters and current draw needed by the starter.

Do as jmartin indicated for testing.

it was the stater i exchanged mine ou for warranty and the new one went out over night,,,had to swap it again,,now the new one sounds rough like it needs shimmed,,,is there any thing i can do or is it just these cheap starters

There are a lot of crappy rebuilt starters out there.
I like to have my originals rebuilt locally rather than hoping to get a good rebuilt one from the likes of Napa.
