balancer difference
I had to replace my balancer on my 93 5spd truck, so I got a used one from a 92. The 92 is larger diameter than the origional and was curious if possible one was for auto vs standard tranny? If so I would think the manual would have had the larger one since you have a flywheel on the rear, or mine was wrong from the start? Any ideas??

not sure but I doubt it. I have a truck that came from the factory with an auto and after putting the 5sp in and flywheel I haven't noticed any differecnces in balancing.

I pulled the engine at 980K plus it idled 6-8 hours a day for about 280 days a year for about 6 years (11760) hours of idleing to keep the A/C or heat going... I got stupid in AZ in 117 degree temps pulling a big hill in the wind with a big ole sail boat in tow and a freightliner riding my blindspot. I mashed it and scored a cylinder. But I drove it for another 10K and swapped a new surplus engine it and the old one last time I heard was slaving away as a well pump. The old Cummins outlasted my wife.

I did until Dec 99 when I quit long hauling. My truck got hot especially when the freaking radiator was in need of rodding. Every 200-250K at least, pull it out and rod it as the bottom 1/3 got plugged... In fact its out again.
