It takes a thin walled 15/16 or 24mm.
I just ran my wiring up to a switch into the cab. It was there when I needed the backup lights, not there when I didnt. Hook up some 100watt ligths in the back, and watch tailgaters back off

On my jeep i hooked up the backup lights and 4 other flood lights to the backup circuit. 2 mounted rear facing and 2 under the rockers(for rock crawling at night.) Ran everything through a relay, and set it up so the tranny switch and a dashboard switch were in parallel and either could light them up.
Lots of light whenever you need it for loading, hitching the trailer, or just backing up at night.
