Ahhh Hospital hill....know that hill well. Sucks you split the hose...but 28lbs is not bad IMO for a stock set-up. I'm lucky if I can force out 20lbs.

And thanks for the link FarmBoy....been looking for a site where I could order up misc sized boots.

So what did it feel/sound like when it happened? Just curious what a difference it makes to lose boost all the sudden like that.

You go from good power to dead in the water, if it blows bad enough. If it's just a small slit it whistles funny and you might notice less power.

1st of all merry christmas to all when it blew I was getting outa the way of a rig who was getting up a head of steam to go up the hill and blew the light at the bottom of the hill. I didnt want him tohit and spill my fresh timmys coffee, I was at full throttle so it felt like going from a unlimited pulling tractor to a kubota kinda apop noise and then a woosh like a blow off valve. found a stock boot under a buddys bench , and in the new year Ill put .aftermarket boot kit on

Good thing that semi didn't eat you up!

Was it due to age? Or just wore out from flexing?

And merry Christmas too BTW.

Didn't know Kubota made a Poppin' John!

Thats what I was wondering about, a buddy of mine has a pre-turbo powerstroke and says it does all he needs it to do but wonders what it would be like with a turbo. I wonder if the 6BT would be anything like that sans turbo...

I think they rated them up to about 120 HP with no turbo in farm tractors.

little bit of both, and it was the connection right under the turbo, so maybe I need to check my motor mounts
