Axle hop or Tranny slippage?

Hello everyone,

Ive got a bit of prob with my truck. I recently had the tranny overhauled after a solenoid in the torque converter when bad. Now ever since then i get a HORRIBLE vibration during a hard launch a near or WOT. The truck bounces and the shifter will be at neutral afterwards.

1) Hard launch WOT
2) Lurches forward
3) After about a foot or two i get a nice *BANG BANG BANG BANG REVVVVV* and the shifter will be resting in neutral.

It seems to do just fine if i put it into 2nd or 1st b4 launching. Could it be because the frame is twisting and is pulling the tranny outta gear?

Thx in advance,
Cougar

I would check the trans mounting bolts, see if all are there and tight. Then check motor mounts.

I agree with DJ but if you don't find anything loose there I'd look at the TC bolts and shifting linkage adjustment, if nothing else just to be safe.
As far as I'm concerened this is the main reason why I try to do as much of the work as I can my self. However that's not allways possible I know. Hope you get it straightened out.
