You can still wire the gauge lights into that 3 amp dash/dimmer circuit and then wire the gauge power to another circuit. This way you have the gauge power on a bigger circuit and the gauge lights will still dim with your dash lights. I think I might have used the radio circuit for the power on mine (switched circuit so it goes on and off with the ignition).

What Wanna said - run the guage itself switched. The gauge "lights" don't draw much current, though. I have 4 additional gauge lights off that 3amp fuse. No prob so far - one to go!

Please enlighten me on this.
I thought we were talking pyrometers.
My pyrometer has no need of a "power" wire.
I didn't know that any of them did.
Also, when drilling/tapping the manifold, coat the drill/tap with gun-grease and most of the fragments will remain stuck in the grease; then, poke one of those pencil-sized magnets in there and fish out the rest.
