Automatic shifter adjustment?
My truck (3 speed) will only let me shift past D into 2, where it doesn't want to stay very well. I'm sure the detents are probably worn out, etc (there isn't a very good "feel" between gears) but I think this problem is mainly just the shift linkage - I have to pull the shifter as far as it'll go to get it into 2, and can't get into 1 at all. I think I'll be needing that option for mountains.
Again, it's not like I can put it into "1" and it'll just clunk out - I can't even move the lever that far. So I'm hoping there's just something on the linkage I can adjust.
Thanks!

I found that but he just fixed the rooster comb/detent part of it - mine does have that problem, but there's some problem with the linkage too (I think). Here's his thread -

Mine "glides across" the gears also, without any real feedback to which gear you're in other than the actual shifting of the transmission, which I can live with. But it also just won't shift far enough, which I THINK has to be a problem between the shifter itself and where the linkage connects to the outside of the trans. I just don't know what does what under there. I might have to find a helper to shift while I look at it.
