Auto trans Question about stock or swap for 1992 4x4
Need a trans for my Buddy's truck I have Zero knowledge of Autos I would Guess Its a 518 not sure I wouldn't mind if some one has any alternative Idea like a Sec Gen auto . Same not sure if it will bolt up to the NP 205 I think the shaft on autos is 23 spline

after doing a 47RH 94-95 transmission swap into my 92 2wd truck I would not do it second time I would just rebiuld the 518 and put a good converter in it. why the cost you need a starter $200, motor plate$100, a lockup converter is $1100-1400 or about $500 more then a 518 one,a core 618 $200-500,shorten 2 drive lines $200 at least,than there other things you need to deal with wiring, trany mount, shafter linkage,pluming for the cooler.
