well, i made it back to montana with my truck and took it to the transmission shop, i used 6 quarts of atf to get there, went thru bout 2 quarts every 50 miles.
When i got the there the owner had one of his workers pull it up on the rack right away to see what was going on, i told him i thought the pump seal was leaking.... he said ya ether that or a torque converter bushing went out and wiped out the seal.
I said ether way this is getting a bit ridiculous.... this is the second time i have had to bring my truck back to you guys and the transmission dont even have 1000 miles on it....
He said we normally do not have this much trouble and i could tell he was embarrassed, i said well i just hope it didnt hurt anything else and he said we're pulling the transmission and the pan i'll know if something went out or got ruined and i'll replace it.
I said ok well my ride is waiting for me outside, he said i'll give ya a call when its done and that was that.
I cant beleive this transmission shop is struggling so hard to keep a torque flight working properly? i have been told they are one of the easiest transmissions to work on?
Once they get this fixed, when i get my income taxes filed, i'm going to have them install the transgo shift kit i have, its a tfhod-2. and after they install in it, im going to flush all the atf out and change the filter and throw type f transmission fluid in it, with a shift kit and type f atf that baby should be shifting pretty good, what'd yall think?

Not that I`m defending your trans guy but, did`nt you have a bad vibration that was caused by the converter? It is very possible that, that vibration/imbalance took out the converter bushing in the pump. Either way it stinks to have all that work done again and have your truck down but at least it sounds as if he`s making it right, best of luck with it.

ya i had a vibratiom because they installed the wrong converter the first time lol, so ya i'm guessing thats what happened, they should have replaced all of that when they put a new converter in it.

it seems to me that everything that is happening to this transmission is due to them being lazy and not doing the job right the first time....

I'd run whatever the Keystone Cops working on it want you to run in it, just to CYA.

the shop that re-built it told me ether +3 or dexronIII or a non synthetic universal atf... so out of those 3 looks like dexronIII will be the winner.... i cant find +3 anywhere and even if i could i probly wouldnt run it because it is too slippery, or so i have been told
