I didnt know the prices had jacked up that bad.... thats robbery. They used to cost roughly $100 more than a detroit....

8-900 bucks is like double the price of a detroit.

So, wait, what are the differences in performance between limited slip and lockers?

limited slip is more like a clutch, if there is a ton of traction on one wheel and none on the other you could end up spinning one wheel faster than the other...ie "limited" slip.
with a locker, it literally locks together, no matter how much power applied and how the traction is distributed there should be NO SLIP

on pavement, not a whole lot...

a 'good' LSD, like a Detroit TrueTrac (not sure if they make them for a D70) is almost like a locker...and some even argue it is a locker...

the problem is once you get in a situation where one wheel is off the ground, or even if one is on a patch of ice...

I ran front and rear Detroit TrueTracs for awhile in a Jeep, and drove it all over the place (mud, snow, etc) with zero issues...rock climbing was it's major downfall...

the TrueTrac is gear based, not clutch based, so you don't need any special additive and there's nothing to wear out (like clutch packs in most factory LSD's)...
