anyone stacked pillar mounts?

I think I've seen on here where someone stacked a one gauge and a two gauge. Has anyone tried to fit 2 of the two gauge mounts? I am not really sure Iwant to do a dash mount. I will end up with 5 gauges eventually. If I can get 4 on the pillar I will put the tach on the steering column.

Well I bought 2 and they're not going to fit. I guess I will go with a 3 gauge dash mount.

If you really want 4 guages on the pillar, why not buy the single guage cups from Autometer and attach them to the piller trim? I thought about it before I just ripped the whole dash out and made my own dash insert lol. I never do anything the easy way lol.

I made a 4 gauge pillar, using a 3 gauge from Genos and a 'universal' single from JC Whitney.
If my posting of the picture doesn't work, look in my photo gallery.

Question

So what you're saying is that 2 doubles will not fit on the pillar. All you could get to fit would be 3 ? Wonder where or what brand they are for the ones that do have four ?

There are no 3 OR 4 gauge pillar mounts for 1st gens.

The only way to get 3 is to stack a single and a double. As Jeepdude_Jay found out, 2 doubles will not fit. Our pillars just aren't long enough.

Guys I have a double gauge pillar mount on my first gen. Each gauge is a dual readout, EGT before and after, transmission, engine oil temp, and boost.

Checkout my gallery and Geno's

I've got a double and a single mounted on the pillar. I used my die-grinder to trim the single so it would look good. I run oil PSI, trans/rear diff temp (I use a swithch to read the one I want) and coolant temp. So I can read four systems on my pillar gauges. I also run a triple dash set - RPM's, Boost and EGT's.

I have 2 on the pillar and also placed 2 right at the Map light location. My map light broke awhile back so I just place 2 CUP mounts right there (chromed of course). I needed to drill and secure them but it was pretty easy since having no map light. You can usually just reach up and tighten the bolt down. Only problem I have found is it makes it more of a pain when needing to take apart the instrument cluster. Just more things to take off. I placed my boost & pyro there so they are close to my Tach. Easy to just look in one spot and see what is going on with those important gauges.

Now only to find a possible Steering Wheel Pod mount for the 1st gen and maybe place a fuel pressure in that steering wheel pod.

On my pillar, running Tranny Temps & Oil Pressure.
