anyone put subwoofers in their 1st gen club cab?
I'm planning to put 1 Pioneer shallow mount 12" sub in a shallow box right against the back wall in my truck...has anyone else put any subs in their truck?

Well, I have a single cab so I dont think my input would help all that much but I have put 2 6" Orion Comp subs 350watt max each in my single cab. The box fit perfectly inside the factory tool tray behind the seat.
Those boxes should work fine though. Just make sure when you mount them back there to get some good tough speaker guards to keep those woofers from getting hit for whatever junk or people you may be hauling back there.
But IMHO, I think 12"s would be overdoing it and wasting money. 8"s would do fine and 10"s would be just right and then some. These cabs are so small and seal so well that 12"s or a really tuned out systems will just cause things to resonate very bad. My 6's with a 250.2 Fosgate amp would rattle the door mirrors and cause the back piece of sheet metal on the cab to hum if I turned it slightly up.
Just my .02 on trying to save you some cash =D

These move a bit of air.
I know of a person who has a pair of these in his home theater I have worked on, I would like to create my own system using this design maybe even a scaled down system for my truck.
The pair of these wave cannons creates pressure waves that are nauseating to be near.
Has anyone built a sub under the seat?

I took the rear seats out, useless with my captains chairs anyway, and used heavy particle board to cover the recessed area the seat used to fold into, with a pair of Punch 2s 10" the bass is awesome. I had to use a lot of Dyna Mat to stop the rattle/resonance of the exterior sheet metal.

I think I'll be happy with the 1 12" woofer, there's not much price difference in the 10" and 12" and the box is about the same price too, already have an amp to power it...still won't be anywhere as loud as the 2 10s I have in my other truck that get 600+ watts rms each.

2 12" fosgates in the back of mine. Made the rear of the cab kinda like a small bed, subs fire down so you don't get all the noise the speaker actually makes...just DEEP bass! amps go underneath also, they get cooled by the air moved by the subs.

I have 2 8" mtx 8500 thunder duall ohm and 2 6" memphis audio componets I made a curved box to the specs for air that fit in the indentation where the rear seats fold into I want to keep the back open to use. I mounted my amps on a piece of 3/4" plywood and mounted that to the back wall of the cab. I dont really want deep base just a full sound so I dont know if there is enough space for 10s or 12s alone

I've got 2 10in subs, one each where the jump seats used to be. They're built in separate boxes and the subs face the outside of the truck. Then i've got a piece of mdf with 3in foam on top covered with some cloth to make a sort of bench back there. you still can't sit in it, but the dog sure likes it!!

I have 2 truck boxes with 8`s (I`m not a big audio guy). Anyhow, I have them against the back wall of the cab/secured with a light duty ratchet strap. The jumps still fold down but it`s a tight squeeze.
