Anyone ever try a 5" tailpipe from a 94-07 on a firstgen?
I want to try to go 5" from the transfercase back on one of my trucks and was wondering if anyone has tried to put a tailpipe designed for a newer truck on a firstgen. Even if you tried a stock tailpipe and it fit/didn't fit. I'm thinking of just buying one and trying it, but it would be nice to know first. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken G1625S used a 2nd gen 5" pipe on his when he took the stacks off. I don't see why it wouldn't work, the only thing that I have read that won't work is the DP. It's pretty much a strait run other than the over the axle and the turn out and I can't see there being that much of a difference. I was going to do that but I am even having a problem with my 4" due to the rear air ride in my truck (it hits the cross member for the air ride) thats why I am going with a set of 5" stacks.
I know that was probably not much help for you but hopefully Greg will chime in.

5" Tp
Been there done that, i'm actualy building 4/5" systems for these trucks, i'll see if Gary will post the pic's of the system i did on his truck. i will hope fully have My system done w/ all the pipes laid out and take pic's this weekend.
5" fits well, ya just have to "massage" it a little.
i use a 2nd gen cast elbow at the turbo,a 2nd gen DP 4", a first gen 4" intermediate pipe, up to 5" after the case a 5" shorty muffler, anda 5" 2nd gen tp. works and sounds nice.
